The Drupal community has been talking about bringing Semantic Web technologies (aka Web 3.0) to the Drupal core for years... most notably in Dries's keynotes in 2008 and 2009.

Now with Drupal 7, it is finally happening. But there are still a lot of Drupal developers who aren't quite sure what Semantic Web technologies like RDF and SPARQL really are and what they do. Now that RDF in core is on the horizon, its time to figure out what we can do with it.

In this talk, you will learn about:

  • the Semantic Web, including all those SemWeb buzz words and what they really mean
  • RDF capabilities available now with contrib modules and the new RDF capabilities being introduced in Drupal 7
  • A few examples of how you can use these tools to do really cool things with your information
  • A vision of where the Drupal + Semantic Web effort is heading with Drupal 8 and beyond
